I have been working as a counsellor for a number of years. I became interested in counselling after a close bereavement.

As well as doing the main Diploma Course (2005) I completed some shorter Courses e.g. Level 1 Loss and Bereavement and a Course looking at how the death of a child can affect a familty. In 2009 I completed the Cruse Bereavement Training Course. This year I have attended workshops on how a trauma can affect people and how to work with these people.

I think it is important to keep up with new developments and recently I have attended one one-day workshops on various topics, e.g. Creative Therapy, Suicide, Self Harm and Addictive Behaviour and most recently an introduction to NLP.

I have applied for BACP Accreditation and I am waiting to see if I have been successful.
